My name is Raiah. I am desperately trying to figure out where and what I want to be in life. I have a BSc in Kinesiology. I am an ISFP. I am a Type 3 in the Enneagram Personality test. This means I am both “The Adventurer” and “The Achiever.” I have fallen in love with travelling. I have dreams about living in Wellington. I have held a koala bear and a wombat. I count these as some of my proudest accomplishments and happiest times. I have been to a professional curling match. I know how to spin fire. I love to read fiction. My favourite authors are John Steinbeck and Kurt Vonnegut. When I was a young I wanted to be Peter Pan. Not Wendy or Tinkerbelle, specifically Peter. Peter Pan is one of my favourite stories. East of Eden is my favourite book. I like to take photos. I love folk music. William Fitzsimmons is my favourite musician. I have never seen him play live. I have been told that my hair is my best feature.
My name is Glynis. I’m a graduate student at the University of Alberta working towards my Masters of Library and Information Studies. I have a Library Technician diploma and a communication degree. I love stories: books, movies, tv, all of it. If we’ve talked about movies you’ve heard me rave about Mad Max: Fury Road. I spent much of my youth immersed in The Lord of the Rings. I once wrote a paper about how Say Yes to the Dress is an essentially feminist and empowering show. In 2012 I spent a few months in New Zealand and Australia and it was a beautiful time; I’m jealous of Raiah because she got to hold a wombat. I love the ocean and the west coast. I once went to Disneyland and the Tower of Terror changed my life. I love rock climbing. I laugh at my own jokes. I’m an INTJ who regularly works on being more compassionate. My sister took that photo, and it is my one of my favourite pictures of me. When I order coffee I tell them my name is Merlin, “like the wizard”.
